Well, I am almost done the manuals. Unfortunately, because I have kind of a high end sound card and my motherboard soundcard is disconnected, I can't watch/listen to the tutorials. I will try to drag them into work some day and watch them there.
Two questions:
For my first project, I am doing a Gregorian Chant loop with Miriam. I lock certain phonemes, but when I reopen the project, they are no longer locked. I want them locked because I have the Latin phrase typed in for the word and then have struggled (for some time I might add!!! ) to get the phonemes correct. I am afraid that if I convert them, they will revert to the typed words instead of the phonemes (which happened once). Sooo, is there a way to lock the phonemes and keep them locked?
Next, I read that extending a word across two notes was done with a -. Does that actually do anything to change the sound?
I have uploaded a piece, "Gothic Prelude", where Lola sings in Latin. I just typed the phonemes directly into the phoneme box and didn't bother typing any words into the text boxes as they could not be converted anyway! That should do the trick. Delete the Latin words, just leave your phonemes in place.
As for changing the sound when a syllable goes over more than one note, the only way to answer this is to try it. It seems to depend on what the vowel is and the pitch of the two notes. It also depends, quite critically, on whether or not the two notes have a (time) gap between them. The singing will be much smoother if there is no gap. I would guess that, for what you are doing, you should aim to close the gaps to get a smooth sound, and don't use too much vibrato, but plenty of reverb on the voice. I look forward to hearing the results.

Chris, I listened to your piece when I first joined the forums... nice work! Thanks for the info...... will do as you suggest about deleting the Latin phrases... duh! Having fun trying to make it sound like the loop I used in the song.
Thanks rjt - I hadn't noticed that you had commented on the piece, as you did this some weeks after it was uploaded. I hadn't gone back after the first flurry of comments to see if there were any more.....
