On some notes Sonika sounds OK, but on other notes sounds terribly nasal, very bad sound. That is the case, even if it is the exact same phoneme, sung on different notes.

What could be causing this problem? How do I fix it?

Sorry for the late response;

Sonika will change her singing when she hits a certain octave. When she sings high, everything will become nasally.

If you can't lower the song an octave (12 steps), altering the Gender Factor to -20 and playing from there should help.
(The Voice Editor is seperate from the Singer Editor, to note.)

She'll make a lot of awkward sounds beyond that, though. I made a tutorial a little while ago on VocaloidOtaku;

VO is very active, and if you have further issues with Sonika or any Vocaloid program people will be glad to assist.

HI

Another time i clicked on your link above and read the tutorial. Very interesting. Now I get an error message when i click there. Did the page move?

The otaku site looks interesting. A lot of the silly (to me) personality stuff, but some interesting musical content as well. I would suggest everyone here take a look there.

But I cannot find the tutorial you speak of now, not at the link above.

Interesting, but without any foundation, not a tutorial, is only a cruel criticism

We are going to compare now a work with SOKINA published by you and one done for my

Should not just say "You're the Master" What I do with Vocaloid can do it anyone with a little dedication and interest...and musical ear

Interesting tutorial and site. I recommend that people check out the site.

I had problems with Sonika not only with high notes, but in the lower register as well.

I am very sorry that I bought her.

And this is one of the newest voices, in the newest version of Vocaloid.

Shouldn't it be getting better--not worse?

Giuseppe-

Your example is well-done, although I don't like that type of music at all.

A little hard to make out the voice through all the special effects.

It does matter, however, that you have spent more time devoted to Vocaloid than anyone, and might be able to get around Sonika's flaws better.

The fact is though, that serious flaws are there. Why should they be there, in a new product, when a Voc 1 voice like Miriam works much better?

Shouldn't the Vocaloid voices be getting better, not worse?

You should not say that no clearly hear the voice because of the sound fx, you already have listened the same song one year ago when I did it, just I've changed the background music, though this one is not a style of music of his pleasure, and you know that in my blog you can listen to a large number of Sonika's songs in which the voice is very clear, please, don't tell me more rare histories.

I'm really tired of listening these things. I've been avoiding to have to speak clearly but this one will be surely the last time that I answer in this one and to any other forum about Vocaloid.
Also, I am very very tired of the fact people coming out of nowhere they think that are professional musicians and experts in Vocaloid's phonetics, giving everyone advice on how to correct the defects that Vocaloid may have.

Now I am going to speak very clearly though the people do not like it.

I've repeated many times that I'm a user like everyone else, I'm not a professional musician and not work for any person in the Vocaloid world, they ask me to test voices, doing songs and it is the only thing that I do.

Vocaloid is a very powerful software but we must use it properly.
To use this program correctly, besides musical knowledge, it is necessary to get in the head of a royal singer, and most importantly, have a lot of musicality

Vocaloid is like any other musical instrument synthetic, has a lot of sounds (phonemes) and this allows me to combine them to obtain the best result.

Now you should continue to pay more attention to the teachings of a user as Crossfrown, which has no musical ear, placing the voice in different tones that the music and makes the voice tutorials.

Now you can say all you want, I'm not coming back to answer

Vocaloid always had the same problem, who handles it.

Bye

José

Just because I have no ear for music (and good lord I have no ear for music) doesn't mean I can't know a bad voice when I hear one.

As a Vocaloid, Sonika is generally high quality.

As a voice, she is sub-par, and even, oh gasp, bad.

I have heard all your works, and they show admirable skill, but are hampered by the fact Sonika is a terrible Vocaloid.

You can't solve bad enunciation no matter how skilled you are.

Bye!

Sorry Crossfrown, but you're wrong in everything what you say.

All the Vocaloid voices are terrible (all). All Vocaloid voices are nasal (all), from Lola to Sonika, (without leaving the Japanese voices), but this vocal fault can be corrected.
But not as you teach, placing the notes one octave below and increasing 12 semitones the PIT parameter, this can confuse the users.

Sonika does nasal sound in "Recado"?

The persons who so much criticize Vocaloid of such a cruel form, should say first, " I not know use correctly the program " (have or not musical ear)

The problem that Vocaloid has with the diction is that I am not a native of English speech, the Vocaloid voices would sing perfectly well in English if I was born in London

Anyway, Whispering Waves, Ring my Bell, Carry On, etc, have an bad diction? (Please, do not confuse to speak in English that to sing in English)

Sweet Ann had a terrible critique when I began to use and now Sweet Ann sings perfectly in English with " Let it be or Crazy", surely that Sweet Ann's problem is that I have improved my English.

You can like a voice or not, but you does not have the right to say that it is a terrible voice. Please, leave the music lessons to the musicians.

I still do not understand as there is no any Giuseppe of English speech, with the easy that is to use Vocaloid.
